Vulcan operates a Trap Rock quarry where material is mined from a unique formation of igneous material known as basalt. Trap Rock is dark in color and is an exceptionally dense, hard, and durable aggregate material. Applications include: chip seals, railroad ballast, TxDOT Class A aggregate, landscaping materials, architectural concrete, and industrial flooring and walls.
